READY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS KEEPING YOU STUCK?
Call me Jackie, and let's make sense of it together.
If you've found your way here, chances are you're looking for more than just coping skills. You may be wanting to better understand yourself, make sense of your experiences, improve your relationships, or finally create changes that feel lasting and meaningful.
I'm Jacqueline Machado, a bilingual Latina therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I believe meaningful change begins with understanding... not judgment. Many people come to therapy frustrated with themselves, wondering why they keep getting stuck in the same patterns despite their best efforts to change. My role is to help you make sense of those experiences with curiosity, compassion, and a deeper understanding of yourself.
I view therapy as a collaborative process. Together, we'll slow down, explore what may be happening beneath the surface, and create space for emotions, experiences, and patterns that may not have had room to be fully understood before. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, we'll work toward greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and more intentional ways of relating to yourself and others.
As a therapist, I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe being fully yourself. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, parenting stress, or life transitions, I'll walk alongside you as we work toward the changes that matter most to you.
My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.

You don't need another quick fix.
Lasting change happens when we understand the patterns and what is driving the symptoms.
Many people come to therapy after years of trying to manage anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, or self-criticism. They've read the books, listened to the podcasts, and understand what's happening logically... but still feel stuck.
That's because insight alone isn't always enough.
Together, we'll work to understand how your nervous system learned to adapt to stress, relationships, and difficult experiences. As you build awareness and emotional regulation, you'll become better able to respond with intention instead of reacting automatically.
This deeper understanding creates opportunities for lasting change... not just symptom management.
My Approach
My work integrates several evidenced-based frameworks that helps us understand how these patterns develop, and more importantly, how they can change.
Psychodynamic Therapy: helps us explore how past experiences and unconscious patterns may continue to influence emotions, relationships, and behavior today.
Attachment Theory: helps us understand how our earliest relationships shape how we connect with ourselves and others.
Interpersonal Neurobiology & Relational Neuroscience: help us understand how the brain and nervous system develop within relationships, and how healing also occurs through safe, attuned connection.
Mindfulness & Self-Compassion: help us build awareness of thoughts, emotions, and nervous system states while responding to ourselves with greater understanding rather than criticism.
Nervous System-Informed & Polyvagal Approaches: help us understand the body's protective responses so we can strengthen emotional regulation, increase tolerance for difficult emotions, and respond with greater intention rather than automatic reaction.
Together, these approaches help us move beyond symptom management toward deeper self-understanding, emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and lasting change.
I'm dedicated to helping people go from Protection Mode to Connection Mode
